Happy Solstice!

Today is the longest night of the year and marks the Winter Solstice for all us pagan-types out there.
It also marks the birthday of one of my very nearest and dearest friends, Govgirl, whom had the audacity to not be at work today after I sent her an e-card, so she'll just have to wait and see it when she goes back to work in January! Happy Birthday dear girl! You are a remarkable woman and a true friend. I am lucky to have known you for as long as I have and look forward to many more years of friendship (Govgirl was the person who introduced me to Monty Python and Douglas Adams, so she holds a rather special place in my heart!).
Regardless, a Happy Solstice to everyone out there and may the turning of the seasons bring hope, joy and prosperity to all!

Happy Solstice to you too!!:) I used to celebrate by burning a yule log, but alas, I have no legal place to burn anymore;) I like today because the Earth is gradually awakening from it's long slumber. The days will get longer, and hopefully not too long from now, things will start to thaw out. I look forward to Beltane as that is the start of the best seasons here in MN.

Longer, brighter days ahead for all of us. And here's to your friendship with Govgirl - friends like that are gold.

Python AND Adams?
A good friend, to be sure!
And Happy Solstice, from one who makes fun of all faiths and lifestyles equally.

Happy (belated) solistace to you too. Hope you and the good Father had a great time welcoming back the light.
Thanks too for this tribute, Sister . . . and for the earings. They are (like you) too cool for words, and I will feel very goddess-like when I wear them.
Now, if I could just figure out how to make myself look like the woman in the picture you've posted? (of course, that post COULD get uncomfortable after a while . . . .)

Oops! Typo - or Freudian slip (your decision!) . . . I meant to say that POSE could get uncomfortable after a while.
